Google made an offer to buy Yelp and Steve Jobs wanted to prevent this acquisition happen.

Stoppelman already had doubts about the possible sale to the search engine after call from Jobs eventually rejected the option. Why Jobs personally get involved in a case like this?
In iPhone OS 6.0 we have obtained the answer to this question. It seems that Apple guru already had in mind the option of incorporating the Yelp reviews and information on your own Maps application. A success by Steve Jobs as Apple Maps needed a provider of business information like Yelp.
