The Time magazine has named Steve Jobs as one of the 20 most influential Americans of all time. The magazine has joined the Apple co-founder of the Top 20 "Pioneers, cultural ambassadors and visionaries of a nation."
"His professional career began where all the best stories start in Silicon Valley: two friends playing with computers in a garage. While IBM and other large companies were creating huge calculating machines, Jobs and his partner Steve Wozniak, software genius, invented the first small personal computer, which they named Apple II. From a visit to Xerox's research lab, Jobs had a vision: a computer with a graphical interface, operated by a mouse. With this inspiration in mind, Steve led his team at Apple to take a giant step in digital design, the Macintosh computer. "
For an idea, some of the other people that make the list are Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, Alexander G. Bell and the Wright brothers.
It seems appropriate that Alexander G. Bell is listed along with Steve Jobs. Alexander G. Bell invented the telephone in 1876 and we all know how Steve Jobs changed the world of mobile phones with its iPhone in 2007.
A recognition that certainly deserves.
