The judge does not admit as evidence Walter Isaacson notes on Steve Jobs

In May, the applicants of the massive demand for the pricing of electronic books involving Apple and five other editors, sent a summons to Walter Isaacson, author of the biography of Steve Jobs, demanding that he hand over the notes he took while writing the biography. The notes, of course, include quotes and ideas from the co-founder of Apple Steve Jobs. The plaintiffs believed that the notes could have shown that Steve Jobs had orchestrated a conspiracy against Amazon, which could have been used as strong evidence in the case against Apple.

But Isaacson refused to surrender the notes as evidence, his lawyers asked the District Attorney to remove the citation was for two weeks, citing journalistic protection law. As reported by Publishers Weekly, the judge has ruled that Isaacson would not submit his notes as evidence. Interestingly, Isaacson's lawyer said his notes and recordings contained no conversation about the prices of electronic books.

Not the first time that the work of Isaacson is called to the courtroom. A judge recently ruled that some comments from Steve Jobs that appear in the biography can be used in the patent case with Motorola and Apple. Samsung also hopes to use some comments in his legal battle against Apple.

Isaacson notes with offside, the case still has a long way to go. Three of the five accused publishers have already been planted, but Apple and two other publishers think fighting the case.
