Earlier this week Apple announced its financial results and has now been shift its main competitor, Samsung. Again, the company returns to live up to its dominance as the leading manufacturer of mobile phones in the world and has announced a historic fiscal quarter.
With 5,900 million dollars in profits (compared to 8,800 million that Apple was), the South Korean company managed to sell 51 million smartphones worldwide during the fiscal quarter. We recall that Apple sold 26 million iPhones in the same dates, so Samsung is positioned as the leading vendor of smartphones in the world. Of course, we must take into account that the company has market many high-end models, while Apple competes in this category with two models: the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s.
So, Samsung has done with 38% of the smartphone market, while Apple is located in a second concentrating on 18% market share.
