This month's trial vs. Apple. Samsung UK turned against Apple. The judge who was handling the case said that "Samsung tablet was not as cool as the iPhone" and that, therefore Samsung had copied Apple's designs. At sentencing, the judge forced Apple to repair the image of his competitor in the country.
Apple was forced to hire advertising space in British newspapers and put a message on his website telling readers that Samsung had copied its products. Cupertino's legal team was quick to appeal the sentence, arguing that the measure would your company and give free publicity to the competitor.
The judge's decision was extreme for Apple and the resolution could change in coming months. The appeal of Apple's legal team has been approved and in October will hold a new trial. Until then, the judge has confirmed that Apple will not have to carry out the actions described in the previous sentence to repair the image of Samsung in the country.
It is unlikely that we end up seeing such ads from Apple published in British newspapers.
