Will the iPhone 5 Dock connector 19-pin?
A report this morning says that the next iPhone rumored frequently use the 19-pin dock connector. This connector has been revealed in some components of alleged leaks of iPhone 5 , and now Reuters confirms that indeed the new iPhone will use this connector.
"The iPhone 5 will be released in October, will come with 19-pin docking port at the bottom instead of the current 30-pin connector, to make room for headphones, as we have confirmed two sources familiar with the matter.
That would mean that existing accessories such as speakers, charge cradles, etc.. that are currently available do not facilitate the new iPhone. "
The current 30-pin connector is perhaps somewhat large compared with the connectors from other manufacturers, but the truth is that many hoped that Apple would adopt the standard micro USB due to pressure being made by Europe. Unfortunately it seems that Apple will go for all makes and will make his own way also with the next iPhone. Apparently the dock changes allow Apple to incorporate a larger battery and additional LTE radio.
The good part, but not for users, is for manufacturers of accessories. Thus, they may sell new accessories like cables, chargers, bases and a long list of products adapted to the new iPhone connector 5.
What do you think that Apple changed the connector? Having to buy back the accessories you might place an impediment to change the iPhone 5 when you leave? Tell us your impressions.
