Things for the Kodak group were nothing good in time of crisis and the company ended up signing his bankruptcy. Now to be seen what will happen to the more than 1,100 patents that the company had under his control and that will be on auction in the coming days.
In the current situation in which competing companies spend their day in court claiming unauthorized use of its patents, it should nab the portfolio of other companies. For example, Motorola's acquisition by Google, the search took with more than 18,000 patents and is now making use of some of them to take Apple to court.
So it is expected that the price of the 1,100 Kodak patents is high. There are already two companies behind them: Apple and Google, how could it be otherwise. Both companies have until today to send their offers. Apple may ally with companies like Microsoft and Ventures Management LLC for the acquisition of the patent.
Moreover, Google would ally with three other firms specializing in hardware and RPX Corp.
