The developers think will win the battle IOS business

The iPad and iPhone are on the rise in the business field, while large companies leave the RIM BlackBerry platform. Apple's chief rival in the enterprise market is without a doubt, Google, whose Android lags behind IOS in terms of corporate email security features, but Google makes up for its online suite of office applications called Google Apps, something Apple does not offer.

Despite this advantage, the developers surveyed by Appcelerator company and market research firm IDC, believe that IOS has a significant advantage over Android. 53.2% of respondents think that IOS win the battle for the enterprise market compared to 37.3% who think the winner will be Android. This contrasts with results from last year, where we saw that there was a tie at 44% between IOS and Android.

These figures are based on a survey conducted by Appcelerator more than 3,500 developers around the world. Scott Ellison, IDC, said:

"The great news is that Apple's iPhone OS took a dramatic advantage against Google's Android in the field of business application. For developers, Android seems to be evolving more toward the consumer entertainment, which in turn provides a gateway to the mobile business applications for Microsoft. "

As to the reasons for such rapid change of trend, the study cites the fragmentation of Android, the possible emergence of malware for Android and iPhone effect:

• The increasingly high levels of fragmentation of Android and, therefore, the increasing complexity of implementing the device in the company and its management software.
• The frequent stories of malware in Android, compared with relatively little there is in IOS, generating concern among IT companies.
• The anecdotal, but more and more consistent, reports IT managers to evaluate the potential of supporting Android with simple implementations of mail and access to M2M.
• The success of Apple's iPhone in a series of vertical industries, creating a halo effect for IOS devices like the iPhone.

Research firms say the perceived weakness in Android is a golden opportunity for Microsoft, a big player in the enterprise market with its Windows and Office software, and tools for servers.

If the developers lose interest in making applications to the business environment in Android, Microsoft will get to move to Android as the operating system of the No. 2 mobile companies.
