Tim Cook: "Apple invented the modern Tablet"

In All Things Digital conference this week, the guest star was Tim Cook . During his talk with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher, Apple CEO explained why the iPhone was different to the Mac in particular,

The tablet is different. You can do things that were not meant to be on a PC. On the other hand, is not able to do things a PC can do. We did not invent the tablet market, invented the modern tablet.

He also spoke of the convergence, a concept but admits she loves to be handled with care:

I love the convergence, and I think it's a good idea in many areas. But the creation of products is about compromises: you have to choose and make tough decisions. The more it looks like a tablet to a PC, the more ballast shall be the limitations of it.

He also released his famous metaphor that we can converge a toaster and a fridge, but it does not leave a good product. There are other ways to make a tablet of success, but the way that Apple has called iPhone.

What do you think these statements by Tim Cook? Is it moving away from the ideology of Steve Jobs with them?
