If you liked the maps presented in the past Apple WWDC 2012, you'll want this comparison. In it are placed facing the virtues and shortcomings of the new maps iOS 6 and Google Maps.
The aesthetics of both is very similar, but the functionality is where we will find differences. The truth is that, in general, the IOS user has lost out with the changes, but we must remember that the Apple product is still in beta.
For starters, the amount of information to supplement the content of the maps, is almost nonexistent in the Apple solution. Although TomTom Waze and collaborate in providing traffic data, the Google service appeared to work better.
To find routes, both applications give similar responses. But beware, because Apple maps have no information on the direction of the streets, so we can get into a wrong direction by accident.
And finally, what for us is the worst lack of new maps iOS 6: the absence of Google Street View, by which we could see every street like we were there. We still have the hope that Google and Apple reach agreement on this.
