The Nexus 7 of Google not concerned about Apple Investor

The Nexus 7, Google does not worry investors in Apple

El Nexus 7 de Google No Preocupa a los Inversores de Apple

This week is celebrating the Google I / O 2012 in San Francisco and, as expected, has introduced the new Tablet from Google, the Nexus 7 .

Made with Asus, the Nexus 7 is an IPS panel Tablet with 7-inch 1280 × 800 pixel resolution, processor Tegra 3 of 1.3 Ghz and 1GB of RAM. In addition, the tablet will come with Google Android version 4.1, Jelly Bean, presented in the same show.

But what can scare Apple is not the hardware or software on this new Tablet, is the price. Nexus 7 will go on sale, the most basic version, priced at $ 199.

Analyst Brian White of Topeka Capital Market sent a note to investors of Apple Nexus 7 indicating it is not a threat for the iPad. Apparently this analyst believes that the new tablet from Google, "just another tablet with Android" and will have the same problems as their predecessors. I leave part of what Brian White said:

"We believe the Apple network expansion, innovative design, unsurpassed beauty, a leader in application availability (with 225,000 native applications for iPhone), an intuitive user interface and an evolving technology, the company will continue to be at the top of the tablet market for many more years "

But why insist on comparing the Nexus 7 with iPad ? The Nexus 7 has a 7 inch screen, priced at $ 199 and no 3G connection, so I'd say it's more competitor to Amazon Kindle Fire iPad.

Now we all know the rumors circulating for a long time indicate that Apple may be preparing a 7-inch iPad cheaper . If this were true, then Google has gained ground if yours before launching. Anyway this is still a rumor and there is no evidence that this will happen. Himself Tim Cook said long ago that an iPad with smaller screen would be meaningless because it does not fulfill what they believe to be a tablet.

What is clear is that the Tablet market is an emerging market and everyone wants to be in it. See what happens in the remainder of the year, when the three major computing have already put their cards on the table.

My opinion, completely personal, is that a 7-inch Tablet makes no sense. Is too small to be big for Tablet and Mobile. I think Apple hit with the full 9.7-inch iPad and think it would be a mistake to launch a version of 7 inches.

On the other hand, does Apple really need to have a cheaper version of iPhone for sale? All Apple products we consume we know they are expensive, yet we know they have an impressive quality and almost any other manufacturer. And make no mistake, that extra uniqueness is also cool (although increasingly there are more iPhone).

What do you think? Do you think the Nexus 7 can take market share from iPad? Do you think Apple should release a smaller and cheaper iPad ( iPad Mini )?
