Summary of WWDC 2012 Keynote



Now that the keynote is over, we can summarize everything of what has been spoken in the same, do not miss it because this time it is loaded with new "disruptive" (as they like to call them).

This time it was Siri who has received at all, with master of ceremonies, making a small opening monologue and giving touch of fun to your presentation.

Of course, as usual, has begun talking about numbers that in some way, attempt to justify all of Apple's strategic moves.

Below we have begun to present new developments, including one of the most anticipated: the new apple laptops bite.

Let's see how they are:

New MacBook Air

  • Models 11 "1366 x 768px and 13" 1440 x 900px.
  • Third-generation processor, Ivy Bridge, up to 2 GHz Intel dual-core i7 (with Turbo Boost up to 3.2 GHz)
  • Up to 8 GB of memory and up to 512GB of flash storage
  • FaceTime HD camera 720p and USB 3 (with a transfer rate of 5 Gbps)

Available today:

  • 11 "with two prices: 64GB to $ 999 and 128GB at a price of $ 1099 (4GB RAM, 1.7 GHz dual-core i5 both)
  • 13 "with two prices: 128GB and 256GB for $ 1199 at a price of $ 1499 (4GB RAM, 1.8 GHz dual-core i5 both)

MacBook Pro updated

Renewal of the range of 13 "and 15" Ivybridge, processor 3rd generation of Intel up to 2.6 GHz quad-core i7 (with Turbo Boost up to 3.7 GHz) in version 15 "and up to 2.9 GHz dual-core i7 in the small version (13 "). Not discussed any of the 17 ".

New generation of MacBook Pro

The new laptop will have a 15.4 "2880 × 1800 pixels resolution with 5,184,000, becoming the portable world's highest resolution.

  • Processor 2.7GHz quad-core i7
  • Up to 16GB of RAM and 768GB of Flash memorable
  • Thunderbolt 2 ports, USB 3, HDMI, SD
  • These new models are super thin MacBook Pro, 1.8 cm, almost as much as the MacBook Air. Furthermore, this affects the weight: MacBook Pro will be lighter to date with 2 kg
  • Will display Retina (Retinal Display).
  • As always, backlit keyboard and a large multitouch trackpad.

And here's the price:

  • 15 "from € 2,279 to € 2,899 depending on configurations

Although not mentioned in the keynote, we see on the web that Apple has also updated the Mac Pro, making the desktop computer in the house, far more powerful.

After this powerful start in WWDC2012, naturally talk has turned to another of the most commented stories that already proposed in February: Mountain Lion OS X, the operating system and take the new machines.

New options for icloud applications and Reminders, Notes and Messages that will make your computer is synchronized with other devices.

New applications and improvements thereon for Mac:

  • Dictation, although in this case will not have to Siri in our computers, we can enjoy this important step as it helps to dictation, and can write through the voice applications (like Microsoft Office, after this announcement has been an accomplice by laughter attendees-) or on websites. Dictation will assume that in Spanish but has not been confirmed.
  • GameCenter comes to Mac, at last!
  • Safari, which is updated with the unification of the search bar in the address bar (very useful) and the integration of icloud can sync tabs between devices - icloud Tabs - (here we wanted).
  • Power Nap, which will update devices (applications, emails, data or photos), while these are not being used (taking a nap).

Available in July from the Mac App Store at a price of $ 19.90. You will not need to have Lion, as it can update drectamente from Snow Leopard.
