Tutorial: untethered jailbreak 5.0.1 with Redsn0w iOS (Mac and Windows)

In this tutorial we are going to explain how to untethered jailbreak 5.0.1 using Redsn0w iOS 0.9.10b1.

Need:

Have iOS 5.0.1 installed ( Download here ) (you need to update the baseband without raising hopes for it will post another tutorial).

Redsn0w 0.9.10b1

Supported devices:

• iPhone 4
• iPhone 3G
• iPod Touch 3G
• 4G iPod Touch
• iPad 1

4S NOT work on iPhone or iPad 2.

(This tutorial is for both Windows and Mac)

(Do not use if you need to release or preserve the baseband)

TUTORIAL:

Restore your iPhone from iTunes with IOS 5.0.1

If not let you open TinyUmbrella restore and uncheck "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit"
Open Redsn0w

if you use Windows run it as administrator and in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP2

Click jailbreak:

Connect your iPhone to your computer and make sure it is turned off.

Follow the steps to put it in DFU

Power Press for two seconds

Without releasing Power also pressed for 10 seconds Home

Without letting loose Home Power and keep pressing Home for 15 seconds

Your iPhone will reboot

Take a little longer than normal.

Redsn0w prepare some files

Select Install Cydia from the list of options

Your iPhone will reboot again and start to do the jailbreak

Wait for the lights, take a few minutes.
