Apple iWork and MobileMe officially closes

mobileme cerrado Apple cierra oficialmente iWork y MobileMe

Apple today officially closed the door of his service in the MobileMe cloud. The decision comes after a transition period of several months duration that allowed users to move their icloud account and download the remaining files.

As of this morning the MobileMe site does not offer users the ability to transfer their accounts to icloud or download files. If you enter the MobileMe website, you will see the sign of the input image at the top and a link to icloud.

The closure of MobileMe marks the end of an era embarrassing for Apple, since the service has been seen largely as a great failure in the eyes of consumers and Apple employees, including Steve Jobs. As an example, here's an excerpt from Inside Apple Adam Lashinsky wrote, which explains how Steve Jobs took a critique of Walt Mossberg, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal:

"In 2008 when Mossberg, along with many other critics, criticized MobileMe synchronization service email that was supposed to overshadow the BlackBerry service, Steve Jobs began to erupt.

He called a meeting to MobileMe team and told them he had been disappointed, to themselves and many others. Worst of all was that Apple had been mocked publicly. "You have tarnished the reputation of Apple," said Steve Jobs. "You must hate each other for letting the other have done this, our friend Walt Mossberg and not write good things about us." "

Also today the service was closed iWork. If you try to enter, you will be redirected to the official website of Apple. The users can not retrieve your data.
