Atom Studios just released the iPad version of its popular application radar detector, a well known app for all iPhone users since its launch as Atom Studios has made this one of the most popular apps in terms to safe driving. Radar Detector HD is here!
Basically, the operation of the application is based on a database of nearly 10,000 points containing all fixed speed cameras, mobile, stretch, blackheads and semaphores. Using GPS compares our current position with the position of the radar in the database, as well knowing if we are close to one of them (the distance is configurable within the application).
Once you locate the HD radar radar detector will warn us with an indication on the screen that will tell us the type of radar in question and show the maximum speed at which we move. We are further indicated by a voice prompt that information which is most useful to not have to watch the screen. You can even set the voice output so that warnings play app for the iPad or through the car's speakers if you have a headset installed and our car can play music via bluetooth.
Speaking of music, the app features an integrated music player that will allow us to listen to our music or podcasts without leaving the app, and it will pause the sound while sounding warnings.
Radar Detector HD has multiple settings such as distance warnings, said audio output and can even choose the wallpaper that we like between the six included. Also features a night mode for the light of our iPad not bother us.
In short this is a very interesting app and it works like a charm, and we save more than a disappointment when we're driving.
