You will all agree with me that PDF is the format most widely used today, along with the Word, for creating documents. Virtually everything you find on the internet will be in this format. In IOS can read PDF documents without installing any extra application, via iBooks. It is a good option, although it is quite limited. If we need to go beyond simply reading, there are two applications that are among the thousands we have available in the App Store: GoodReader and PDF Expert. Today we will discuss briefly that offers PDF Expert.
Among the extensive list of features it offers PDF Expert, we can highlight:
- Reader PDF's with features like full text search, links and support schemes, support for images and videos, possibility of using bookmarks, password-protect documents and extract text from PDF file.
- With Expert PDF can also modify our files highlighted in different colors, creating shapes, type text, fill out forms, use annotations in the text, add signatures and figures and even freehand drawing.
- We import documents from iTunes through the Wi-Fi to iPhone or iPhone directly from other applications and opening IOS texts with "Open".
- Expert PDF is compatible with the services cloud storage more common as Dropbox, Skydrive, Box and Google Docs. Synchronization with these services will be fully automated if we link ourselves with PDF Expert.
- In addition to PDFs, PDF Expert also allows you to read iWork documents and Microsoft Office. You can also open images, music and videos.
- Expert PDF has some extra features like sending documents by mail from within the application, an integrated browser and the ability to add a password to the application.
As you can see is a fairly complete application. And it's fast and stable. Even with large files the application behaves beautifully.
IPhone Version
It is clear that all the juice out of an application like Expert PDF 3.5 inches of the iPhone are rather short. We will not have trouble reading, because the interface disappears completely, but if something else if we have to modify some of the text or make notes. However, the developers have tried to make the user experience as pleasant as possible, even in such a small screen. Have placed a series of shortcuts to the overview of reading and block rotation of the screen, e-mail, search, save a copy, print, open in, signs and markers. In the shortcuts it adds a sidebar with which we can move between pages quickly.
Upon entering the application will see the main screen where we have all our documents. We can set the view in preview mode (as in the picture above) or in list mode. We recently opened files accessed and files that are on cloud services. Finally we have the settings.
IPad Version
The iPad is where we can really use all the possibilities offered by PDF Expert. Among the highlights have automatic sync with Dropbox, preview pages in the view of reading, a comprehensive toolbar, ability to highlight a very comfortable and easy and speed of operation.
The interface consists of a toolbar at the top that will give us access to all features of writing that has the application. This toolbar can hide the screen to let us clearer to read. On the other hand, have the bar with shortcuts to search, preview pages, bookmarking, enabled the toolbar and share the document.
Upon entering the application have a main menu where you can manage your files. We can create folders, display a preview of the files and have fast access to search, recent files, cloud services and settings, like the iPhone version .
Conclusion
Expert PDF has two weaknesses. The first is the price of 3.99 €. The second is that the application, unfortunately, not translated into Spanish.
However, we think it is an application that is worth the money, because today is one of the best alternatives available in the App Store.
Do you like Expert PDF? Do you think there is a better app? Feel free to leave your comments.
