Lately the stars of the rumors about Apple are, without doubt, the iPhone 5 and iPad mini. The latter is expected to be present also on September 12 together with the iPhone 5 . As we know, the rumors point to a device with a screen of 7.85 inches, a resolution of 1,024 × 768 pixels and a price below 300 €.
Although there is no real evidence that this product exists, and has been confirmed by a number of different media. In fact, today has come to light a new report claiming that Apple is ready to begin production of the panels used on the iPad Mini this month.
Quoting an analyst from CNET said:
"We hope the panel production can begin in August, with production ramping up to large volumes (more than 1 million units per month) in the fourth quarter," said Paul Semenza, DisplaySearch analyst at NPD, in response to a consultation by email.
Paul Semenza DisplaySearch said that "understand that this production of 7.85 inch panels are expected to be used in the iPhone mini." If this production schedule is correct, it could indicate a mini iPad launch in late 2012. "
This rumor could destabilize the rumors that the mini iPad could be launched in September, but could support the rumors that the launch will be in November.
Release dates, leaving aside, it would be a disappointment that Apple did not submit its iPhone mini in the same event presented by the iPhone, presumably in September. There will have to wait.
