Today Google TV, a device that combines TV content and internet is available in the U.S. and has not had an enthusiastic response from the pulic. It was expected that the business does not expand beyond its borders, but finally the CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, has confirmed that the Google device will land on the old continent in 2012.
It will be a good time to compete directly with Netflix, the movie rental service online, which also plans to expand to Europe next year. And leave behind Apple TV, which is still seeking a formula that succeed in the field of film and television content, a field in which it has not shown success.
