New cables leaked Wikileaks reveal that Apple has pushed the Chinese government in more than one occasion to try to eradicate the factories that copy of the Apple products. Apparently, the Cupertino company organized a panel in 2008, which included experts who had previously worked in the FBI. His mission was to investigate the best way to convince the Chinese government to pursue practices counterfeit products from Apple. However, the Chinese have repeatedly said the Cupertino responsible for the issue of counterfeiting is not a priority today.
Messages that have revealed this information were sent to the U.S. embassy in Beijing to keep the current ambassador to the strategy that Apple was doing with the Chinese government. The same Steve Jobs was aware of these operations.
Now we know why Apple did not support the application in the App Store Wikileaks ey withdrew: the company was involved in the issue and did not want this information came to light.
