Añitos ago about Apple had to get a software update because some hackers were able to install third party applications and modify the phone system that just launched, the update was 1.1.1 and then there was only one and only iPhone sold in the U.S.: the iPhone 2G.
Since then Apple and hackers have been playing cat and mouse, hackers looking for holes where slip and closing them with Apple software updates, new bootroms, checks baseband, SHSH, etc.
