The Dev-Team has released some promising data associated with the new firmware version, 5.1, and the ability to Jailbreak the iPhone 2 and the new iPhone (3)!

As the kids say the Dev-Team on its website , there are bits of good news and you have after the jump.

• Confirm that the method used to Jailbreak the iPhone 2, 4 months ago and before crown , still works in 5.1. This step is important, or could help to achieve the Jailbreak iPhone 3.
• Yesterday @ i0n1c tweeted a photo of your newly jailbroken iPad2 in 5.1. (and Cydia 1.1.5) using a method unrelated to the previous one.
• And last but not least claim to have found bits and traces of a new jailbreak method has been investigated by "someone close to the scene of Cydia".
