One option was unaware of my iPhone and I have come across it unwittingly is the ability to activate a code to unlock the device using text instead of numerically. From Route Settings - General - Passcode Lock, an option will appear that we deactivate: simple code.
Thus, to Enable tap code, we are asked to enter a code in text form:
