The SMS, endangered

Apple’s iMessage El SMS, en peligro de extinción

More and more applications that allow us to send messages for free to users who also have the same application. Some of the most successful are the chat and What's Blackberry App (the latter available to all users who have smartphones). It is undeniable that more people get smartphones and make use of free instant messaging, saving money on every phone bill.

In countries like United States, where telephone operators offer SMS free of charge, a fact that has no great significance. However, if you move to the Spanish companies, we're talking about big losses in company profits.

More after the jump.

Soon, IMessage - Apple's, will also be free of charge to all customers who have an IOS device. The SMS is increasingly cornered and could join his partner in a few endangered species: the MMS.

However, operators still have one thing going for it: not all people have the same applications or smartphones, so continue to ensure the customer that their SMS can get anywhere.
