One of the most important news of the year was Apple's intention to open offices in the Tio Pepe landmark building in the heart of Madrid. The agreement seemed close, but now A pple rectified and has stalled negotiations with the estate agent to rent the building . A shocking news, as sources close to the deal, claimed for months that Apple had already begun to reshape the block. In fact, the Tio Pepe sign was removed for a few weeks for the works being carried out.
The place was designed to accommodate also the largest store, available at street level. The reasons for the suspension of the agreement are unknown, but may be related to the economic crisis in Spain right now, because that could have led Apple to reconsider its options in the country.
