Apple is interested in ultrathin batteries

One issue that concerns us all mobile users. One issue that is often the subject of much controversy, suffering, heaters and scares. We talked about the battery life.

Many of the tablets and smartphones on the market we are extremely thin, and if not further reduce its thickness is in large part by the battery. Now, NEC has introduced a new ultra-thin battery technology that could revolutionize the industry. They are known as ORB (Organic Radical Battery), and Apple already have them in the spotlight for their future iPad , iPhone or iPod Touch.

The Japanese company NEC has introduced a 3 mAh battery, which may seem small, but it's still a prototype. The thickness is spectacular, 300 microns, similar to a sheet of paper. It is made with less toxic elements from the usual and integrate seamlessly into mobile devices. Couple this to the reduced thickness of the chips and circuits that would suggest the natural tendency, we see very thin devices in the coming years, probably less than 5 mm.

If Apple decides to integrate these new batteries in the next iPhone, you should wait until 2013, when NEC will start producing these batteries. There is talk that could be loaded in seconds, a wonder that hard to believe. If true, it appears that lithium batteries would going on in the background after years of success.

How about these new ultrathin batteries? Will we see them someday, or is one of those technologies that will remain in the prototype stage?
