Tim Cook talks about the patent battle in the press conference of the financial results

Yesterday Apple held a regular press conference that disclosed its financial results in this case, the second fiscal quarter of 2012.

The results are good, but we will not go into details, so we spent to explain the response of Tim Cook, referring to one of the questions asked on the subject of patents .

This was the question:

How should we think about the opportunities regarding patent disputes? What do you think the solution against the ongoing litigation?

To which Tim Cook said:

I always hated litigation. We just want people to invent their own stuff. If we could get an agreement where we can be sure that is the case and that a just solution in terms of what happened, I strongly prefer a solution to a battle.

The key here is that Apple is very important not to become the developer for the world. We need people to invent their own stuff.

Clear and concise. Apple only battle for what is theirs (like all companies with patents). And obviously, they do not want the money they invest in development, after being used by others (hence "Apple does not become the developer for the world").
