Apple iPad has a 7.85 inch at its Laboratories

The blog TechnoBuffalo announced with some excitement that John Gruber, someone quite linked to Apple, said in his podcast 5by5 the existence of a mini iPad.

Gruber said that a large number of Apple employees have commented on the existence of a tablet of 7.85 inches Apple labs, but has no idea if I ever see the light.

Rumors about an iPhone below 8 inches have been around most active forums online for many weeks, including reliable sources like the New York Times, ensuring that Apple has already perfected the new device.

Specifically, Gruber noted that:

What I know is that they have one in the laboratory, a 7.85-inch iPad with a resolution of 1024 x 768. It is exactly like the 9.7 inch only proportionately smaller. The good news is that the apps do not have to redesign, since the resolution is the same: simply the iPad is smaller.

To clarify concepts, also said it is one of many ideas that Apple is working, but who has no idea when, if it does, will go on sale.

The truth is that a smaller iPad seems to us whenever possible. With the success of the tablets in the range of 200-300 $ from companies like Amazon and its Kindle Fire, or Barnes & Noble, we are sure that Apple does not want to miss their cake.
