AT & T, one of the most powerful operators in the U.S., announced earlier this year its intention to buy the competing company T-Mobile. The latter is known for its infrastructure in the country and its powerful 3G and 4G networks, an area in which AT & T suspended (using the iPhone is frustrating in some cities). This merger, certainly not conducive at all to customers and much less competition. Hence, the case takes months in the hands of regulators responsible for investigating whether this merger would create a monopoly in the country.
Democrats expressed their opposition in the White House and now a part of the Senate, called on regulators to block the merger because "the acquisition would hurt competitors, customers and go against the laws of the United States. It would be an action against the public interest. "
Hopefully this merger does not take place.
