Brightness With Media Controller can control the brightness of your iPhone or iPod touch from the Lock screen of your device, you simply install and once in the Lockscreen double click the Home button just as you do now to get the Music controls appear on the slider unlock another slider that lets you change the brightness.
Personally I prefer the automatic adjustment of brightness of the iPhone, works pretty well.
