The iPhone continues to dominate the market for Tablet

Apple continues to dominate the market through the iPad tablet with 61% market share despite the competition from HTC, Motorola and BlackBerry.

Since the launch of iPhone , Apple has been the dominant player in the market for tablet. In the second quarter of 2010, the iPad sole leader with a brutal 94.3% market share. Today, Apple has sold more than 6 million iPhone compared to last year - from 3.3 million to 9.3 - and although the numbers are spectacular, the market share declined to 61% due to competition.

Android is the main competitor to the iPhone. With the launch of Motorola and HTC Flyer Xoom, the system Google has managed to increase its market share to 30% compared to 3% last year (only 100,000 units to 4.6 million).

Also PlayBook RIM has achieved its market share, but keeps a low 3.3%.

Overall, sales of tablet increased by 330% percent this year from 3.5 to 15.1 million.
