Apple about to acquire patents to deal with 6000 competition

As reported by Reuters, Apple with Microsoft, RIM, EMC Corp, and Sony Ericsson have joined forces and money, much money, to leave Google out of the acquisition of Canadian telecommunications company Nortel.

This auction has attracted many stakeholders as Nortel owns key patents related to the evolution of the 4G standard and people like the Co-CEO of RIM have called the "national treasure".

The offering of these six large, some $ 4,500 million, over $ 900 million of Google, who was seriously interested in patents related to wireless networks, 4G networks, internet, voice, and numerous semiconductor technologies.

So far only known involvement of RIM and Ericsson, which is about $ 770 and $ 340 million respectively and did not know Apple's share, but is believed to be among the top three. This unexpected union Nortel would be divided based on the participation of each company and the sale has yet to be approved by the courts of Canada and the U.S. throughout the month of July.

¿It will influence the purchase of this company in our lives over the next year? Do you see any intention of Google to surpass that figure to five times its initial offer? Who will take over this operation?
