The rate at which applications are downloaded from the App Store is amazing is that in just 31 months the store has iOS device applications able to match the number of downloads at the iTunes Music Store which required 67 months.
To continue this growth rate, the App Store would overtake the iTunes Music Store in March of this year and every day are downloaded over 30 million applications.
In conclusion, this rate of purchase and download applications also causes the cost of switching to another platform will increase considerably and it is very difficult to switch to Android (for example) if someone has invested a lot of money on applications for iPhone.
