The month of March will be important for the LGBT community in the United States. The Supreme Court is reviewing the country, right now, the DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act), a law passed in 1996 that defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman. This is a document that discriminates against hundreds of thousands of people in the country. Apple has sent a statement to the U.S. Supreme Court, along with other companies like Facebook, HP and eBay, asking the judges to favor marriage same sex with his final decision.
The fact that gay marriage is not recognized at the federal level in the United States, makes a level lower than the LGBT community. In the document sent by Apple and other 200 companies, exposes how because of DOMA are forced "to discriminate against a large number of employees, who can not enjoy the insurance benefits or other benefits that heterosexual couples themselves they can enjoy. "
Moreover, current technological companies asking California courts to remove the prohibition of marriage between people of the same sex in the state.
