The firm Kantar Worldpanel ComTech has released a report this week reveals iPhone penetration in different countries. According to their study, Apple has managed to surpass other operating systems in the U.S. market with a dramatic increase in just one year.
The iPhone currently controls 53.3% of the U.S. market in the country compared to 35.8% who did last year. Meanwhile, the Android OS devices experienced a decrease of 10.9%, from 52.8% to 41.9% control of the market in just twelve months. This is a significant drop, but we must also emphasize that it is the first time that Apple exceeds the 50% barrier.
In Europe, the great rival of Apple, Samsung, continues to dominate the market by keeping their hands in 44.3% and Apple followed, far behind, with 25.3%. After Apple competitors are positioned as HTC, Sony and Nokia.
In the case of Spain, the presence of the iPhone seems to have declined in the past year. Figures show sales of smartphones collected by Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, Apple has gone from 6.9% to control the Spanish market to 4.4%. In this case earn Android smartphones, to possess 58.7% of the market.
