Apple buys Chomp to improve the discovery of apps in the App Store

Apple is a company with more economic power now, not news. And it's not uncommon to spend some of that money to buy companies that seem interesting.

Chomp, an iPhone application (called exactly the same) that lets you search and discover new apps in the App Store, this being the best of the best.

As it stands to reason, we suspect that Apple will use the algorithms and technology Chomp to add much to the App Store as a Mac App Store.

In conclusion, MG Siegler TechCrunch has declared the following:

This was not a purchase / hiring cheap, Apple has purchased the equipment and technology Chomp and plans to use to streamline searches and recommendations from the App Store

Lastly, Mark Gurman, 9to5mac editor commented on Twitter that the team is already working on Chomp Apple.
