At Stanford University is conducting the project Mopho DJ that uses an iPhone and DJ turntables to control music playback.
The iPhone is bound by an adhesive on the surface of a transparent plastic vinyl and as it rotates, the iPhone sends the information to collect their accelerometers to a computer that interprets the data received and adjusts the playback of music on line at movement of the vinyl itself.
The result is impressive and although it is still a draft, will make its debut in Oslo in June, when the NIME (New Interfaces for Musical Expression).
