Tutorial: tethered jailbreak the iPhone 3GS with iOS 4 or 6

With this tutorial you tethered jailbreak for iOS 6 on your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS, if your iPhone 3GS has old bootrom untethered jailbreak you.

The tethered jailbreak requires that you reboot your iPhone using Redsn0w whenever you power off, but will not start (except the first time, you will start but not run Cydia, Safari and other apps).

Need:

An iPhone 3GS with iOS 4 or 6 installed, if you do not have installed via iTunes

RedSn0w 0.9.15b1:

• OS X
• Windows

Tutorial:

Open Redsn0w, click jailbreak

Connect your iPhone and turn it off

Click Next

Redsn0w will guide you to put your iPhone in DFU

Press the power button for 3 seconds

Press the home button (without releasing the power button) for 10 seconds

Release the Power button and hold the Home button until redsn0w detects your iPhone

Process begins

Select the option "Install Cydia"

Your iPhone will restart in this notice: your jailbreak is tethered

After restarting your iPhone can not open Cydia, your jailbreak is tethered, you must do the following process, also have to do it every time your iPhone is turned off or reboot

Click Extras

Just click Boot, follow the instructions to put your iPhone in DFU
