To date Apple maps have only to reap bad reviews compared to Google Maps, present in the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPads to iOS 5. Today the firm Onavo breaks a lance for the navigation system iOS 6.0. According to a study conducted by the company, Apple maps consume 80% less data than Google.
Therefore, unless we exceed our contracted data plan, Apple maps are a good solution as a GPS navigator.
From Onavo conducted the same address and city searches for both systems: Apple maps consumed an average of 271 KB per result, while Google Maps came to consume 1.3 MB per search. So this shows that, in terms of data consumption, Apple maps are more efficient than Google.
