Greenpeace has released a report showing the levels of energy consumed by facilities that house the largest databases of major U.S. companies. Google, Amazon, IBM and Apple are some examples shown in a study in which show the companies that consume energy more efficiently and less. And while Apple is proclaimed as a company "green" and "clear" the results of Greenpeace are not very favorable for the Cupertino company.
Apple uses a clean energy 6.7% compared with the company that leads this list: Yahoo, which employs nearly 60% of clean energy. Thus, Apple ranks 10 of the Top 10 set up by Greenpeace and is overtaken by Facebook, Twitter, HP, IBM and its major competitor Microsoft. It is also hoped that his position on this list disappears when it launches its new MobileMe with a capacity to house music too, because it will be forced to make a large investment in data consumption.
