Mac OS 10.6.5 arrived yesterday and, as we expected, no trace of AirPrint but thanks to the developer Steven Troughton-Smith can return this function to all Macs that have installed the new version of Mac OS X.
Warning:
In this guide we will change some system files so they do not recommend that anyone without the necessary knowledge to perform this tutorial. Use this guide at your own risk and make a backup of files to be replaced so you can restore the system if an error occurs.
Requirements:
- Have Mac OS X updated to version 10.6.5
- Package of three files corresponding to a pre-release of Mac OS 10.6.5. You can download these files by clicking here.
Procedure:
- Unzip the file ActivarAirPrint.zip.
- Copy the file urftopdf on the route:
- Apple.convs and copy files apple.types on the route:
- Deletes the printer you have installed on your system settings
- Restart
- Re-add the printer and make sure you are sharing the network.
/ Usr / libexec / cups / filter /
/ Usr / share / cups / mime /
If all went well, your iPhone with iOS 4.2GM find the printer and you can use it without problems:
