The Japanese company Hitachi Displays is working on new type of touch panel in which the elements of the display is capable of detecting plastic and fabric, in this way, a user could use the display even with gloves on (which Thank you very cold day).
The new panels would be between 3 and 10 inches in size and would not be surprising to see them installed in future iDevices considering that Apple has pioneered multi-touch capacitive screens.
