A new Apple patent describes several interesting ideas to play games with others in an augmented reality environment. The patent has been called "Interactive Gaming with Co-Located, Direction and Location Aware Networked Devices" and allow us to search for other players close to our position.
Example: in a shooter this patent would allow us to use our iPhone as a "laser gun" using the gyroscope, accelerometer and GPS. In addition, the iPhone's rival would be able to detect when it has been shot.
This patent also describes the use of accessories to play games (knobs that turn the iPhone into a gun) or the ability to drive vehicles around us. A madness.
