Since leaving iOS 4 the iPhone 3G has seen a performance that leaves much to be desired for most users. Apple promised that 4.1 iOS improve the user experience even if they did it, not everyone is satisfied with the results.
iOS 4.2 is very close and it seems, judging by the video, the performance improvement of new 3G iPhone with a firmware update.
