The iOS and Android Apps suspended in terms of privacy

According to a study by Appthority, applications that are offered for free in the App Store and Play Store are likely to collect personal data to send to its officers who later marketed them. That is, different applications collect data to sell to our terminals usually for advertising purposes.

The report states that applications from the App Store for iOS (iPhone, iPad or iPod touch) is given to transmit private user data, if only for one reason: it is much more crowded, is much larger in users and applications.

The analysis by the firm says that around 60% of free applications from the App Store makes such operations, while in the case of the Android store the figure stands at 50%.

Going a little further detail, the report says that 60% of iOS apps collect location data and 54% extracts data from the contact list, while in the case of Android these percentages are 42% and 20% respectively.

Furthermore, stress that this information is transmitted via the Internet without any security, without encryption or similar, which makes the risk of being intercepted and is still greater.

Appthority further notes that this phenomenon is growing and will continue to increase as the size of app stores and the number of users will not cease, because developers are increasingly possible companies interested in buying the data for advertising operation.
