We have seen videos of animals enjoying an iPad , such as cats, dogs and even virtual frog hunting insects on your screen. What we had not stopped to consider is whether we can use the Apple tablet to communicate with intelligent animals such as primates.
Zoo Orangutan Jungle Island of Miami Communicate with iPad
Researcher Linda Jacobs has conducted a study that used an application to communicate with the orangutans at Zoo Miami.
This application, initially designed for people with autism, presents a grid with pictures of various actions that the subject can turn on or off as desired.
For example, you can click on the icon of a banana to ask your caregiver to bring one. You may have noticed that there are several impediments, because a person should hold the iPad against primate, and the screen may be small for animals that are not used to manipulate things with precision.
