How many times have we wondered exactly what it means to double check symbol in WhatsApp? We all know that 'a check' means that the message has been sent successfully, but never known for sure if the double check that appears later is because the recipient has read the message or simply receive this notice because the message has been received correctly.

A very general question to which WhatsApp has ended today with a brief message on Twitter and direct: "For your information: Double check mark does not mean that the message has been read-only that was sent to a recipient."

This breaks one of the most widespread beliefs in the world of free messaging: double check does not mean that the other person has opened the application and have read the message.
