Apple has patented a screen that includes a "private mode" directing light toward the user and altering the normal viewing angle so that a person can not see from the side.
The viewing angle could be configurable by the user, and settings would be through a special menu for it, but could also be activated by touching a portion of the touch screen devices.
This function can become essential in our iDevices for all those times that you are entering a password and do not want the next to see it, because with the current viewing angle the only option we have is that the next door do not look.
